مستشفى حمد بغزة يواصل عطاءه لخدمة ذوي الإعاقة في يومهم العالمي

كخطوة إنسانية تهدف لتعزيز الخدمات الطبية المقدمة لذوي الإعاقة، أرادت قطر بناء وتشغيل مستشفى التأهيل والأطراف الصناعية الأكبر في قطاع غزة وذلك بما يضمن تحسين الظروف الصحية للفئة الأكثر هشاشة وتخفيف معاناتهم.
ومنذ إبريل من عام 2019 يقدم مستشفى سمو الشيخ حمد بتمويل كريم من صندوق قطر للتنمية، خدمات تأهيلية نوعية من خلال ثلاثة أقسام رئيسة (قسم التأهيل الطبي، قسم الأطراف الصناعية، قسم السمع والتوازن)
ويحيي العالم في 3 ديسمبر من كل عام اليوم العالمي للأشخاص ذوي الإعاقة لدعم الأشخاص من ذوي الإعاقات، وتعزيز الوعي المجتمعي بقضاياهم وحقوقهم، والعمل على دمجهم في جميع جوانب الحياة والمجتمع.
ووصل عدد الأشخاص ذوي الإعاقة في قطاع غزة إلى ما يزيد عن 48 ألف شخص يعانون من إعاقات مختلفة ويشكلون ما نسبته 2.6% من عدد السكان بحسب جهاز الإحصاء الفلسطيني.
يقول المدير الإداري والمالي لمستشفى حمد والقائم بأعمال المدير العام أ. أحمد نعيم أن مستشفى حمد كان وما زال رسالة خير وعطاء من دولة قطر الشقيقة للفلسطينيين من ذوي الإعاقة والذين تتضاعف معاناتهم جراء الحصار ونقص الخدمات الطبية المقدمة لهم.
ويرى نعيم أن المستشفى منذ تشغيله استطاع أن يتميز بخدماته النوعية والمقدمة بشكل مجاني للمرضى وذوي الإعاقة والبتر في قطاع غزة، خصوصًا بعد الاعتداءات الإسرائيلية المتكررة والتي ساهمت بشكل واضح في زيادة نسبة الأشخاص الذين يحتاجون لتدخلات تأهيلية تساعدهم على العودة إلى حياتهم الطبيعية.
“فلم تكتف قطر ببناء المستشفى بل مولت تشغيله وزودته بأحدث الأجهزة والمعدات الطبية والتأهيلية ورفدته بكادر طبي وتأهيلي مميز، ليشكل نقلة نوعية في مجال التأهيل والأطراف الصناعية في القطاع بعد أن استطاع أن يقدم خدماته الصحية للآلاف من المرضى وذوي الإعاقة”، يتابع نعيم.
وتمكن مستشفى حمد منذ بدء تشغيله من تركيب أطراف صناعية لـ 208 شخصًا من بينهم 60 طفلًا بواقع 263 طرفًا صناعيًا، ما ساعدهم على العودة إلى حياتهم الطبيعية والاعتماد على أنفسهم.
من بين المستفيدين، الشاب عبد الرحمن أبو وطفة وهو لاعب قوى عن فئة الأشخاص ذوي البتر وقد حصل من قسم الأطراف الصناعية على طرف رياضي، متطور ويلائم نمط حياته، فالطرف كما يقول “ممتاز جدًا وخفيف كما أنه سهل في الحركة والمشي”.
ويعاني عبد الرحمن (30 عامًا) منذ طفولته المبكرة من بتر في الساق اليمنى فوق الركبة بسبب تشوه خلقي، إلا أن ذلك لم يمنعه من الانطلاق في مشوار رياضي حافل ومميز.
يقول “كنت في الخامسة عشر عندما بدأت تستهويني الأنشطة الرياضية، وبعدها تمكنت من المشاركة في بطولات عربية وعالمية في دول مختلفة كالصين واليابان، تونس، أذربيجان، وفرنسا، لكن الإنجاز الأكبر بالنسبة لي هو حصولي على بطولة العرب في قطر عام 2011”.
وتتكون أسرة أبو وطفة من 10 أفراد وتعاني اثنتان من شقيقاته أيضًا من بتر في الأطراف السفلية وكن قد حصلن على أطراف صناعية ورعاية تأهيلية متكاملة في مستشفى حمد بغزة.
وفي قسم المبيت يتلقى كايد أبو مدين (51 عامًا) خدمات العلاج الطبيعي، الوظيفي، التخاطب والبلع، بعد إصابته في سبتمبر الماضي بجلطة دماغية أدت لضعفٍ في قواه العضلية وجعلته طريح الفراش.
ومن خلال جلسات التأهيل، صار بإمكان أبو مدين التنقل باستخدام العكاز بعدما كان يعتمد كليًا على الكرسي المتحرك وهو متفائل بأنه سيصبح قريبًا جاهزًا للمشي باستقلالية والعودة إلى عمله وعائلته.
يقول الأب لثلاثة أبناء “لاحظت فرقًا كبيرًا بين الرعاية التي تلقيتها في بداية إصابتي والرعاية التي أحصل عليها في مستشفى حمد بعدما نصحني أحد الأصدقاء بالتوجه إليه”.
وبحماس يعبر الشاب عبد الله وهو ابن شقيق كايد الذي يرافقه خلال مكوثه في المستشفى عن اعجابه بالاهتمام الذي يوليه الطاقم الطبي بالمرضى، ويتابع “الأجهزة هنا حديثة وممتازة وأرى أنها حسنت كثيرًا من حالة عمي الجسدية والنفسية”.
ومنذ تشغيل المستشفى، ساعد قسم التأهيل الطبي الآلاف على القيام بأنشطتهم اليومية والاعتماد على أنفسهم، حيث قدم القسم 82 ألف جلسة تأهيل من خلال وحدات العلاج الطبيعي، العلاج الوظيفي، تأهيل الأطفال، التخاطب والبلع.
أما الطفلة غنى حجو (7 سنوات) فكانت تبلغ أربعة أشهر فقط، حين اكتشفت والدتها ان لديها فقدًا كليًا في السمع، وفي نهاية عام 2017 أجرت الطفلة عملية زراعة قوقعة على يد الفريق الطبي القطري بإشراف الدكتور خالد عبد الهادي.
وبعد جلسات تأهيل مكثفة في قسم السمع والتوازن وبجهود كبيرة من والدتها، بدأت غنى تتفاعل وتتكلم لأول مرة بعد 7 أشهر من اجراء العملية، وحتى الآن تتلقى الطفلة جلسات تأهيل لفظي وسمعي في مستشفى حمد بغزة.
تقول والدة غنى التي تدرس بالصف الأول “أصبحت ابنتي قادرة على التفاعل والتعلم بشكل سليم والأهم أنها تستطيع الآن التعبير عن نفسها وعما تريد، فأكثر ما كنت أخافه هو أن لا تتمكن من ذلك”.
وكانت أم غنى تخشى إجراء عملية زراعة قوقعة لابنتها، لكن اطّلاعها على حالة الأطفال الذين أجروا العملية في الفوجين الأول والثاني شجعها كثيرًا، خصوصًا عندما لاحظت أثر العملية الإيجابي على حياة الأطفال وذويهم، كما تقول.
تتابع بحماس “حاليًا انتظر بفارغ الصبر أن تصبح غنى قادرة على التعامل مع جهاز القوقعة بمفردها، لأتمكن من ارسالها إلى المسجد القريب من منزلنا لتتم حفظ كتاب الله كاملًا”.
وأجرى الوفد الطبي القطري 230 عملية زراعة قوقعة منذ عام 2017، كما قدم قسم السمع والتوازن منذ ذلك الوقت ما يزيد عن 40 ألف جلسة تأهيل للأطفال زارعي القوقعة ومستخدمي السماعة.
Hamad Hospital in Gaza continues to support Disabled Persons on their international day
Qatar built and operated the largest rehabilitation and prosthetic limbs hospital in the Gaza Strip as humanitarian support aimed to improve the tough health conditions of persons with disabilities and help them face no barriers in all aspects of their lives.
Since April 2019, HH Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa Hospital has provided qualitative rehabilitation services through its three main departments (Rehabilitation Department, Prosthetics Department, Audiology Department) with generous funding from Qatar Fund for Development.
The International Day of Disabled Persons is celebrated every year on 3 December, The observance of the day aims to promote an understanding of disability issues and mobilize support for the dignity, rights and well-being of persons with disabilities.
The number of people with disabilities in Gaza Strip has reached more than 48000, which constitute 2.6% of the population, according to the Palestinian Statistics Authority.
Mr. Ahmed Naim The administrative and financial director of Hamad Hospital and the acting general manager says “Hamad Hospital was and still a message of unlimited giving from the State of Qatar to the disabled persons in Gaza Strip, the people whose suffering is increasing due to the siege and the lack of medical services.”.
“Since the start of work, the hospital has provided its qualitative services for free to people with disabilities, patients and amputees in Gaza Strip, especially after the repeated Israeli attacks, which increased the percentage of people who need rehabilitation interventions to help them resume their normal lives”.
“Qatar built the hospital, financed its operation and equipped it with the most advanced medical appliances and equipment in addition to a distinguished medical and rehabilitation staff, so it was able to provide health services to 14,000 beneficiaries”, Naim continues.
Hamad Hospital was able to fit 208 people with prosthetic limbs, including 60 children, with 263 prostheses, which helped them return to their normal lives.
The athletic player Abd al-Rahman Abu Watfa who received an advanced prosthetic lower limb from the prosthetics department, says “the limb is proportionate to my lifestyle, excellent and light, as I can move and walk easily”.
Abdel Rahman (30) has suffered since his early childhood from the amputation of his right leg above the knee due to a congenital deformity, but this did not prevent him from embarking on a distinguished sports career.
Abu Watfa says “I was fifteen when I started enjoying sports, I was able to participate in Arab and international championships in different countries such as China, Japan, Tunisia, Azerbaijan, and France, but the biggest achievement for me is that I got the Arab Championship in Qatar in 2011.”
Abu Watfa’s family consists of 10 members, two of his sisters also suffer from lower limb amputation, and they received prosthatic limbs and integrated rehabilitation care at Hamad Hospital in Gaza.
In the inpatient department, Kayed abu Medain (51) receives physical therapy, occupational therapy, speech and swallowing therapy, after he suffered a stroke last September that weakened his muscle strength and left him bedridden.
Through rehabilitation sessions, abu Medain is able now to move around using crutches after he was completely dependent on a wheelchair and is optimistic that he will soon be ready to walk independently and return to work and his family.
“I noticed a big difference between the care I received at the start of my injury and the care I was getting at Hamad Hospital after a friend advised me to go there” the father of three says.
Abdullah, Kayed’s nephew, who accompanies him during his stay in the hospital, expresses his admiration for the attention paid by the medical staff to patients, “The devices here are excellent, and I see that they have greatly improved my uncle’s physical and psychological condition.”
Since the start of work, the Rehabilitation Department has helped thousands to do their daily activities and be self-reliant. The department has provided 82,000 rehabilitation sessions through physical therapy, occupational therapy, pediatric rehabilitation, speech and swallowing units.
The 7-year-old Ghenah Hijo was only four months old when her mother discovered that she had a total hearing loss. in 2017, she underwent a cochlear implant operation by the Qatari medical team under the supervision of Dr. Khaled Abdel Hadi.
After intensive rehabilitation sessions in the Audiology Department, in addition to her mother’s efforts, Ghenah started interacting and speaking for the first time after 7 months of the operation, and so far the child receives verbal and auditory rehabilitation sessions at Hamad Hospital in Gaza.
Ghenah who studies in the first grade has become able to interact and learn, and most importantly, “she is now able to express herself and what she wants, what I was most afraid of was that she would not be able to”.
Ghenah’s mother was afraid to have a cochlear implant operation for her daughter, but the condition of the children who underwent the surgery in the first and second groups encouraged her a lot, especially when she noticed the positive impact of the surgery on children and their families.
“I am waiting impatiently for Ghenah to be able to deal with the cochlear device on her own as I can send her to the masjid to memorize the Qur’an” she added.
The Qatari medical delegation has performed 230 cochlear implants since 2017, and the Audiology Department has provided more than 40,000 rehabilitation sessions for children with cochlear implants and hearing aids.
