الدين نزل للبشرية ليوفر منظومة قيم واخلاق متكاملة لترتقي بالمجتمعات الانسانية. من يقرأ التاريخ يجد انه قد تم استغلال الدين لخدمة مصالح إما شخصية، أو سياسية، وأصبح اداة لزيادة الفرقة وشن الحروب إشعال التطهير العرقي والاقتتال بيننا.

حان الوقت لاحترام الدين ووضع حد لجميع اساءات استخدامه، وتحقيق ٕاجماع عالمي على استئصال جذور أخطر الصراعات في العالم.

في غاية الحماس ان اشارك مفكرين ورموز عالميين وإقليمين مثل المفكر ناعوم تشومسكي ورموز اقليمية مثل صديقي نبيل فهمي وعمر موسي وأخرين كثر لدعم المبادرة العالمية التي تسعى لسن “معاهدة دولية لحظر الاستخدام السياسي للدين”، تسعى المبادرة لحظر التمييز في الحقوق والواجبات على اسس دينية وحظر الاقصاء الديني.

المملكة المغربية اصبحت اول دولة دعمت المبادرة رسميا وبدأت بالترويج لها في اروقة الامم المتحدة وهنالك أكثر من عشرين دولة اخرى قدمت دعمها الرسمي للمبادرة.

أرجو الاطلاع على هذه المبادرة العالمية ويسعدني دعوتكم للانضمام إلى جهودنا لجعل العالم أكثر تسامحا وأكثر عدلا وسلاما للجميع.

Religions were descended on humanity to provide us with moral and ethical codes to advance human societies. But unfortunately, history tells a different story; politicians and clergy misused and abused religions to serve personal and political interests. As a result, religion has become an instrument for division, wars, ethnic cleansing, and bloodshed.

It is time to respect religion and put an end to all its misuse and abuse.

I am very excited to join global and regional leaders such as Noam Chomsky, my friend Nabil Fahmy and Omr Moussa and many others to support the International Treaty to “Ban the Political Use of Religion.” (BPUR). The Treaty seeks to prohibit discrimination in rights and duties on religious grounds and prohibit religious exclusion.

The Kingdom of Morocco became the first country to support the initiative officially. It began promoting it at the United Nations, and there are more than twenty other countries gave their official support to the Treaty.

I strongly support this initiative and would like to invite you to join our effort to make the world more tolerant, fairer and more peaceful.
