سامينا ساشاك هي فنانة للحياة البرية من تنزانيا تتولى قيادة الدعوة إلى تغيير قوي لجميع الفنانات في العالم النامي ، بما في ذلك بلد إقامتها.

بدأ الفن يلعب دورًا محوريًا في حياة Samina Sachak في أواخر الثمانينيات عندما بدأت الحركة الفنية النسوية في الظهور في إفريقيا كوسيلة للتأثير على المواقف الثقافية وتحويل الصور النمطية.

وُلد مصدر إلهام الرسم في مسقط رأسها Tanga ، وهي مدينة ساحلية في تنزانيا. تؤمن Samina بأن الروح الحقيقية لأي شيء تنعكس في فنها ، سواء كانت ثقافة أو سلوك حيوان.

نشأت سمينا وهي تراقب والدتها الراحلة وهي تصمم قطعة من الملابس في ملابس راقية ، مما تتذكره ، مصمم شخصي خاص بنا. كانت والدتي شخصية مؤثرة في حياتي. لقد كبرت ورأيتها تقوم بكل أنواع الأعمال الفنية اليدوية مثل الأدوات المنزلية لملابسنا. أستطيع أن أقول ، لقد كانت امرأة حسنة الملبس ، حسنة الحديث ، فنانة ، إنها رمزتي ، “تعتقد سامينا أنها انعكاس والدتها.

ضرورة التحريض على التغيير
بالنسبة لسامينا ، الفن ليس مجرد قطعة من الإعجاب الجمالي ، بل هو إمكانية لتغيير النظرة إلى الفنانات والتحريض على التغيير نحو المساواة. أوضح نضال سامينا لها أن غالبية الفنانات في أوائل التسعينيات حُرمن من المناصب في المعارض في عدد قليل من صالات العرض وتم اعتبارهن أمرًا مفروغًا منه.

هذا جعلها أكثر تصميماً وتركيزاً. سواء في تنزانيا أو في أي مكان آخر ، أرادت Samina الحصول على كل فرصة. تقول Samina أن الحدود لا تحد من الفنانين ، فنهم يمكن أن يتحدث بأي لغة في أي جزء من العالم. لذلك مع كل فرصة صغيرة أو كبيرة حصلت عليها Samina ، كان لديها رؤية واحدة في ذهنها وهي تعزيز ظهور جميع الفنانين المحرومين (ذكورًا وإناثًا) في عالم الفن.

الهند وتنزانيا
بعد 28 عامًا من النضال والعمل الجاد ، حصلت Samina Sachak على فرصة رائعة لعرض أعمالها الفنية في معرض Jehangir Art Gallery المرموق في آسيا في مومباي من 31 أكتوبر إلى 6 نوفمبر 2016. تعتقد Samina أن الحصول على منصب في هذا المعرض الفني هو بمثابة فرصة عظيمة وانتصار للنساء وجميع الفنانين المحرومين الموجودين في تنزانيا والدول النامية الأخرى

Autobiography: Samina Sachak

Samina Sachak is a wildlife artist from Tanzania who is at the helm of advocating a strong change for all women artists in the developing world, including her country of residence.

Art began to play a pivotal role in Samina Sachak’s life in the late 1980’s when feminist art movement began to emerge in Africa as a way to influence cultural attitudes and transform stereotypes.

The inspiration to paint was born in her hometown Tanga, a coastal city in Tanzania. Samina is of the belief that true spirit of anything is reflected in its art, whether culture or behavior of an animal. 

Samina grew up watching her late mother tailor together piece of cloths into fine clothing, of what she recalls, our very own personal designer. “My mother has been an influential person in my life. I have grown up seeing her do all sort of handwork pieces of art such as home items to our clothes. I can say, she was a well-dressed woman, well spoken, an artist, she is my icon,” Samina believes she is her mother’s reflection.

The need to incite a change

For Samina art is not merely a piece of aesthetic admiration, but it is a possibility of changing the perception towards women artists and to incite a change towards equality. Samina’s struggle explained her that a majority of women artists in early 90’s were denied positions at exhibitions at few galleries and were taken for granted.

This kept her even more determined and focused. Whether in Tanzania or elsewhere, Samina wanted to get hold of every opportunity. Samina says that boundaries doesn’t limit artists, their art can speak any language in any part of the world. Therefore with every small or big opportunity that Samina got, she had one vision in her mind and that was to promote all disadvantaged artists’ visibility (Male and Female) within the art world.

India and Tanzania

After 28 years of struggle and hard work, Samina Sachak got the esteemed opportunity to exhibit her pieces of art at Asia’s most prestigious Jehangir Art Gallery in Mumbai from 31st October to 06th November 2016. Samina believes that securing a position at this art gallery is a great opportunity and a victory for womenand all disadvantaged artists present in Tanzania and other developing nations.

Samina’s exhibition dubbed ‘Wild Enchanters’ showcased unique painted portraits, nature and behaviour of wild animals of India and Tanzania.
